  • "Client" / "You" means the individual who engages our services.

  • "Website" means the Tenang Chambers website at https://tenangen.live.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an enquiry through this website, communicating with us by telephone, or accepting an engagement letter from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not engage our services.

Our services are available to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Malaysian law. Minors may be represented by a parent or legal guardian with full capacity.

3. Service Description

Tenang Chambers provides the following legal services in relation to pension matters in Malaysia:

  • Disability Pension Application Preparation (RM 850 per application)
  • Pension Tribunal Representation (RM 1,400 per matter)
  • Pension Account Reconciliation Review (RM 2,200 per review)

Services are available to clients across Malaysia. Some services involve communication with authorities or bodies that operate within Malaysia; our ability to assist with matters involving overseas pension authorities is subject to case-by-case assessment.

4. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information relevant to your matter
  • Notify us promptly of any changes to your contact details or the circumstances of your matter
  • Respond to reasonable requests for information or documents within the timelines discussed
  • Not provide false or misleading information, which may result in termination of the engagement
  • Use this website and our services for lawful purposes only

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, structure, and design — is the property of Tenang Chambers. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use our content for any commercial purpose without written permission.

Written assessments, reconciliation reports, and submissions prepared on your behalf remain the work product of Tenang Chambers but are issued to you for your personal use in connection with your matter.

6. Payment Terms

Fees are as stated on this website and confirmed in the engagement letter. All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Payment is due as specified in the engagement letter — typically a portion on engagement and the balance on completion of the agreed scope.

Accepted payment methods include bank transfer (IBFT) to our designated account. Receipts are issued on request.

Refund Policy: Where work has not yet commenced, fees paid are refundable in full. Where work is in progress, the portion attributable to work already completed is not refundable. We will notify you if the scope changes materially before any associated cost is incurred.

7. Service Delivery Terms

The scope of each service is set out in the engagement letter. Timelines are estimates and are subject to the responsiveness of third parties, including pension authorities and tribunal scheduling. We will keep you informed of progress and of any factors outside our control that affect timing.

Changes to scope that materially affect the cost or timeline will be discussed with you before being implemented. We will not incur additional costs on your behalf without prior agreement.

8. Disclaimers

Legal advice is provided based on the information available to us and the applicable law at the time of the engagement. We do not provide any assurance as to the outcome of any application, tribunal proceeding, or authority decision. The outcome of such matters is determined by third parties outside our control.

Information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. You should not act on website content without obtaining specific legal advice for your situation.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the fee paid for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of income or opportunity, arising from any engagement with us.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including authority backlogs, system outages affecting government portals, or third-party non-cooperation.

10. Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality over all client information and communications, as required by the Legal Profession Act 1976 and the rules of professional conduct of the Malaysian Bar. Information shared in connection with your matter will not be disclosed to third parties except as required for the conduct of the matter or by law.

11. Termination

You may terminate an engagement at any time by written notice. Fees for work already completed are payable. We may terminate an engagement if you provide materially inaccurate information, fail to cooperate within a reasonable timeframe, or act in a manner inconsistent with these terms. In such cases, we will give reasonable notice and return any documents provided by you.

Obligations of confidentiality and intellectual property ownership survive termination of any engagement.

12. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we encourage parties to seek informal resolution first by contacting us at [email protected].

Unresolved disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Selangor Darul Ehsan.

Clients who are dissatisfied with our professional conduct may also contact the Malaysian Bar's Disciplinary Committee.

13. General Provisions

These Terms & Conditions, together with any engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between us in respect of the service concerned. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
