Why Clients Come to Us

How we approach your matter

We travel when needed

If attending your location reduces the burden on you, counsel will travel. Meetings are arranged around your circumstances, not office hours.

Merits assessed in writing first

Before a tribunal matter is filed, you receive a written view on its merits. You decide whether to proceed with full information in hand.

Realistic views, plainly stated

Likely outcomes are explained honestly. If settling is in your interest, that option is presented at any stage without pressure to continue.

Conducted at your pace

There is no pressure to move faster than your situation allows. Timelines are discussed and agreed upon before any work begins.

Clear, fixed fees

Fees are stated upfront. You know the cost of each service before engaging — no additions unless scope changes are discussed and agreed.

Documentation you can keep

Written reconciliations and assessments are prepared to be retained by you — useful whether or not the matter proceeds further.

Questions

Common questions about pension matters

How do I know if my disability pension application has a reasonable chance of success?
This depends on your specific diagnosis, the medical evidence available, and the requirements of the relevant pension scheme. Before we proceed with any application, we review what you have and let you know honestly what the records show and what additional documentation might strengthen the matter. There is no charge for that initial assessment conversation.
What happens at a pension tribunal and do I need to attend?
A pension tribunal is a formal hearing where questions of entitlement, calculation, or scheme interpretation are determined. Whether your attendance is required depends on the nature of the matter. In many cases, counsel can represent you fully without you needing to be present. We discuss this with you before the matter is filed.
My pension statement shows contributions I don't recognise. What should I do first?
Gather whatever records you have — employment letters, payslips, previous statements. The reconciliation review service then obtains the official records and compares them to yours. Many discrepancies turn out to have a clear explanation; others require further action. Either way, you end up with a written record of what is on file and what, if anything, needs to be corrected.
How long does a disability pension application typically take to process?
Processing times depend on the relevant authority and the completeness of the application. We do not make promises about timelines that are outside our control. What we do ensure is that the application is as complete and well-supported as possible before submission, which reduces the likelihood of requests for further information that cause delays.
Are your fees charged regardless of outcome?
Yes. The fees quoted cover the professional work done — preparation, submissions, and representation — which require the same effort regardless of the final decision of the relevant authority. Fees are agreed before work begins. If circumstances change materially, any adjustments are discussed with you before being incurred.
Can I engage your services if I am located outside Petaling Jaya?
Yes. We work with clients from across Selangor and Malaysia. Meetings can be arranged at your location, at our office in Menara Atlan, or by telephone where that is more convenient. The nature of pension work means that most of the substantive work is conducted through written correspondence with the relevant authorities.
