Experiences from those who have engaged our services

I needed help with a disability pension application but had little energy for paperwork at the time. The team was patient throughout — they arranged to meet me at home and handled most of the document gathering themselves. The application was submitted well-supported, and that made a real difference to how I felt about the process.

I was referred here after my pension review application was rejected. What I found helpful was that before any work was filed, I received a written view on the merits. It was honest — they told me where they thought the case was strong and where it was less certain. That kind of transparency is what I needed to decide whether to proceed.

My EPF statement had a gap of about 18 months that I could not account for. The reconciliation review turned out to be exactly what I needed. They obtained the official records, compared them with what I had, and gave me a clear written report. Two of the missing months were genuine errors; the rest had a straightforward explanation. Having that in writing was worth the fee on its own.

Dealing with a tribunal process while managing a health condition is not straightforward. What helped most was that I did not have to attend the hearing — counsel handled the matter in full. I received updates at each stage in plain language, and when a settlement opportunity came up, it was explained to me clearly rather than pushed in either direction.

I did not expect the disability application process to take as long as it did — but that is the authority's timeline, not the firm's. What I can say is that the application itself was thorough. Everything needed was included, and the supporting letter was well-written. I felt properly represented throughout.

The reconciliation review uncovered that my employer during a particular period had not remitted contributions correctly. The written report was detailed enough to use when I followed up with EPF directly. Having someone independent review the records and explain them in plain terms made the whole situation much less stressful to deal with.

Three client journeys in brief

Disability Pension Application — 2024

Challenge

A client with a progressive neurological condition had been advised by their employer's HR department that they did not qualify for a disability pension. They had no documentation to support that view and felt unable to challenge it.

What Was Done

We reviewed the relevant scheme criteria and identified that the employer's interpretation was incorrect. The application was prepared with medical evidence obtained through the client's treating specialists and submitted with a covering letter addressing the specific eligibility criteria.

Outcome

The application was accepted within four months of submission. The client began receiving disability pension payments. The work was completed over eight weeks with three meetings — one at the client's home and two at our office.

"I had been told it was not possible. It turned out to be possible — it just needed to be done properly."

Tribunal Representation — 2024

Challenge

A former civil servant disputed the pension calculation applied at the point of retirement, believing that a period of secondment had been excluded from the service calculation incorrectly.

What Was Done

We obtained the employment and secondment records, reviewed the applicable pension regulations, and prepared submissions addressing the treatment of secondment periods. The merits assessment identified that the calculation error was substantiated.

Outcome

The matter settled before the scheduled hearing date. The revised calculation included the secondment period, resulting in a retroactive adjustment and an increase to the ongoing monthly pension. Total elapsed time: five months.

"The written assessment gave me confidence that the error was real. I knew going in that the case had substance."

Reconciliation Review — 2025

Challenge

A client approaching retirement noticed that their EPF statement showed lower contributions than expected across approximately three years of employment with one former employer.

What Was Done

We obtained the full contribution record from EPF and compared it against the client's retained payslips. The reconciliation identified that contributions had been remitted late in eleven months, and in two months, the remittance fell short of the statutory requirement.

Outcome

The written report provided the client with a clear basis to approach EPF's employer compliance unit. The shortfall was subsequently rectified. The report was completed within three weeks of engagement.

"I had a suspicion but no way to confirm it. The report gave me something concrete to act on."
